"Shut up." Felix said.
"Shut up." Felix said. She had assumed her usual dinner pose; staring out the window to the golden sky, eating pasta out of the pan with a cooking spoon. "Go away. I don't wanna talk about it."
"You're seriously not you. What happened to uppity little Felix?" I wheeled myself over to her. Oh. Did I forget to mention? I'm stuck in a wheelchair. Born that way. Long story; it dosen't matter.
"Cassandra, I said go away." Felix stuck me with the kind of glare I haven't since she went from Vallerie to Felix three years ago. "Seriously. Give me some fucking space here!"
"Hey! I'm not the one who-" I started to yell. Then WHAM, mom came home. Felix put down her dinner and started to clean up the mess. I wheeled over to our room, taking extra care to be out of sight by the time mom got to the kitchen.
Mom could have been pretty, I guess. She had really long curly blond hair that's stringy in a good way, grey eyes, and elfin features. Thin and tall like an elf, too. But she's always in such a state of dissaray that her features never look quite right. But still, she's my mom. I love her.
"Hey!" Felix beamed, launching all ninety eight pounds of herself at mom. Oh, I forgot that, too. Everyone here is very thin. Not scary thin. But very thin. I guess it's the combonation of genes we got.
"Hey, sweetheart. How was your day?" Mom asked, leaning over to kiss Felix.
"Fine, I guess. Yours?"
"Long." Mom chuckled. She looked around. "Where's Cassandra?"
"In our room, I think. She's in one of her moods again." I rolled my eyes. Leave it to Felix to pin her emotional baggage on me. I mean, we're pretty close together, but she seems so... young sometimes. We look like twins, almost. Same mousy brown hair, lips slightly too big, thin body. The difference is her eyes are grey, like mom's, and mine are brown.
"I am not in one of my moods!" I said, wheeling out to the kitchen. "God, Felix." Felix shot mom a look that said see? I fumed. "Anyways, shouldn't you be at Sam's?"
"Uh... no. Why?" She gave our gesture for 'don't let mom know!' with her hand.
"Never mind. Thought you had to do that History project with him, is all." I smiled, then shrugged.
"Cassandra, that was last week. Keep up at all?" She stuck her tounge out at me. Mom drifted off to her room during our exchange. Felix grabbed the pot and finished eating dinner. "Oh, and don't forget to shower. Your hair looks like a grease slick in the morning."
I smiled and wheeled out. She's pretty great.
